Mr. Bennie Scott was born on January 16, 1958, in Jacksonville, Texas, to Mizellar and Charlie Scott. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his brother, Steven L. Scott.
Bennie was a proud graduate of Jacksonville High School, Class of 1976. Following graduation, he began a long and dedicated career with Union Pacific Railroad, where he faithfully served for 38 years before retiring. Even after retirement, Bennie continued his spirit of service by assisting families at Rosewood Funeral Home and Community Funeral Home, offering comfort and care to those in need.
He was a devoted member of Seminary Heights Church of Christ, where he worshiped faithfully until he was called home from labor to reward.
In his leisure time, Bennie found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored and delighted in spoiling. He also enjoyed bowling and playing dominoes, activities that reflected his warm, social, and lighthearted nature.
Left to cherish his precious memories is his loving wife, Nettie Scott; his children, Brandon Scott (Lana) of Beaumont, Texas; Nekettia Thompson (Chris); and Bennie Scott II (Jasmine) of Jacksonville, Texas. He is also survived by his siblings: Charlie M. Esco, Charles Scott (Mae), Eldree Whitaker, Robert Scott (Willie Ann), Jeanette Johnson (Fredrick), and Loretta Thomas.
Bennie’s legacy continues through his seven cherished grandchildren: Alandria, Brandon Jr., Mason, Dallas, Skylar Jae, Carter, and Bennie III.
He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear family friends who will forever treasure his kindness, his laughter, and the love he shared so freely.
Bennie will be remembered for his dedication, his gentle spirit, and the unwavering love he had for his family.
