Pamlea Louise Butler
June 6, 1954 – January 14, 2026
Pamlea Louise Butler, lovingly known to many as the heart and backbone of her family, passed away on January 14, 2026, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 71. She was born on June 6, 1954, in Midland, Texas.
Pamlea was a devoted, faith-driven woman whose life was defined by love, strength, and selflessness. She was the glue that held her family together — a caretaker in the truest sense, always putting others before herself. In her husband Rickey Butler’s final years before his passing in May 2020, Pamlea cared for him with unmatched dedication, precision, and love — often more attentively than any medical professional. Her family knew her as a woman of deep faith, quiet strength, and unwavering compassion.
She was deeply loved not only by her family but by friends, extended family, and anyone fortunate enough to know her. To many, she wasn’t just “Pamlea” — she was Mom. Her home and heart were always open, and her presence brought comfort and stability to everyone around her.
Pamlea is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rickey Butler.
She is survived by her children: Jade Nelson, Aja, and Tyese Butler; her grandchildren: Rajani, Jadae, Jade Jr., (JJ), Iviana, Tyese Jr. (TJ), Kobe, Deonte, Chris, and Corey; as well as four great-grandchildren, including her youngest great-grandchild, Naiyomi.
Pamlea moved to Longview, Texas in 2007, where she built deep roots and lasting relationships before later receiving care in Houston, Texas. She was supported by countless prayer warriors, including Sheila, Debbie, and many others who stood faithfully alongside her and her family.
In accordance with her wishes, Pamlea will be cremated. No memorial service will be held.
Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
